As any responsible adult will know, deep water and youngsters can be a dangerous combination. So when a professional couple bought a large country residence with an outdoor swimming pool, the safety of their four children was of paramount concern.
The solution was to encircle the pool area and its approaches with infra-red beams when the swimming pool was not in use.
If any of the beams were broken by the children (or indeed an intruder), motion-sensing security cameras around the pool would be activated, sending live images to all the TV's and control panels in the property. In this way, real time activity in the pool area could be monitored at all times from anywhere in the house (so the intruder would literally find himself in deep water!) and the system could be switched off instantly when activity was being supervised or the pool was being used socially.
